5th July saw the 3rd Redricks Lake Aquathlon (Swim then Run) event in 2023, the first time the series has happened since 2018. The event last night also formed part of the local Tri Club super series which members of Stortford Tri (and Bishops Stortford Running Club) can take part in for free. Each of the local Tri clubs involved take it in turns to host an event, this Aquathlon was jointly hosted by Stortford Tri and Harlow Tri club.
First out of the 750m swim (including some very weedy patches) were Lizzie Bellinger and Kev Mully with stunning swim times of 10:57 and 10:58 respectively. Kev handed over to Matt Ironside for the 5k run who went on to win the open relay with a total time of 31:27. Lizzie was first female back in a time of 34:50. Matt McRandall took the open individual time with an extremely quick run, finishing in 32:22.
