With temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius, thirty seven athletes (including two relay teams) completed the third race in our midweek aquathlon series.   Water temperature was a fraction lower than last month’s race, and critically below the BTF threshold of 22 deg which forbids the use of wetsuits to prevent overheating.    As a result of being able to use… Read more »

A warm, dry summers evening saw the a great turnout of 38 take on the first race in the Stortford Tri Midweek Aquathlon Series 2016 at Redricks Lakes.    There were a few new faces but most had taken part in the series in previous years. Thanks to all those who attended our third aquathlon of 2014 last night. The recent warm temperatures saw several people shed their wetsuits and swim ‘skins’; several others wished they had. The run route stuck to the northern side of the river, as vegetation was too thick to use the loop on the far side. Thirty-two competitors in total. Well… Read more »

The fourth in the mid-week Aquathlon series is now behind us. The numbers were down on previous races but still there was some close competition. The first 4 senior ladies separated by 80 seconds and the top 3 senior men within a minute of each other. The cheers from supporters did well to disguise the fact that there were fewer… Read more »

Well there was certainly a great turn out on Tuesday for the third in this year’s series of the mid-week aquathlons. Last month we saw a record number of people participate and attributed it to the fantastic weather we were experiencing. Could the persistent warm weather have been a factor in the 30% increase in entries this month!  Hopefully it… Read more »

Tonight was the second race in the 2013 Midweek Aquathlon series. Another very good turn out and if the 3 non-starters could have made it it would have been another record entry. Tri Sport Epping presence was clearly evident with most of them racing in their club colours but more importantly in the men’s results. First home for the men… Read more »
