Jamie Bishop raced the HSV St. Albans sprint Tri on Sunday. The weather was finally nice for a change if a little fresh. He finished in 01:04:26 and came 8th overall and 3rd in his 40-44 age group. A cold but fresh morning with glorious sunshine was the setting for the European Sprint Championship qualifier at Grendon Lake on Sunday May 13th. Peter Winfield came third in his age group qualifying for next years European sprint in Turkey with a time of 1:15:38. Congratulations to Phil Chaplin who completed 5 days of the 2nd stage of the cycle slam. 455 miles with 20000 feet of ascent. He made some good friends including Freddie Flintoff. Great effort Phil and we wish Colin all the best for his attempt at stage 4 next week.

On a blustery Bank Holiday Monday Diane Bramley braved the elements for her first tri of the year.She completed the 432m swim, 20 k bike, 5 k run in 1:50:41. With splits as follow. Swim 9:29  T1 2:21  Bike 61:30  T2 1:35  Run 35:44

On a sunny but chilly morning Stortford Tri held its Spring Duathlon. Twenty six competitors lined up for the 3 k run, 19k bike and 3 k run. A close first run saw Jamie, Phil and Chris head out onto the bike leg within 30 seconds of each other. The bike split them with the first half of the course… Read more »
