Pete Winfield re fuelling after a 60 mile bike ride from London to Cambridge. Other Tri members taking part were Alasdair Bruce, Alan Findlay, Dan Howarth and Pete Binks. They finished in 2 hours 58 mins.
Members from Stortford Tri club were on hand to help with the Olympic Torch relay through Bishops Stortford today. With thousands of people turning out to see it the day was considered to be a great success. See the torch bearer coming up to Elms of Stortford and Debbie getting instructions from the police.
With two age group wins and two top ten finishers we had another very successful walden Tri this year. Over 20 people taking part with many first timers it was great performances from Seonaid brooks and Lars hlystead which won them their age groups. Six Tri members ended up doing Thursday nights TT at Walden. Results to follow but Pete Binks came first for the club and second on the night in just under 25 mins. In the picture you have Pete W, Pete B, Rob, Matt and Colin. Turning up late was young Dan Howarth.
At StortfordTri we would like to thank for providing their great water cover for us for our Aqauthlon series. Herts Boat Rescue is a totally voluntary organisation with unpaid volunteers which run the service. For the first time in it’s 22 year history due to water safety advice the Thames was judged too dangerous for swimmers due to the high volumes of rainfall and so was turned into a Duathlon. the event was changed to a 1k run, 42k bike and 10k run.
