What a great turnout! Thanks to everyone who came along to last night’s race. We had a season’s best of forty-four competitors last night taking to the waters and tracks of Redricks Lakes.
TriSport Epping dominated the prizes, taking home three of the four prizes, but it was newcomer Jake Callis of Yonda Racing who stole the show. Exiting the water in 9:33, he whizzed through transition in 16 seconds and completed the 5km run in 17:47 to take the race win, in what must be a course record of 27:36 (archived results need to be checked). Second place went to another newcomer – Roland Albert of Trent Park Running Club in 32:11.
Lewis Calcutt in third place overall led the TriSport Epping team home in 32:32, taking the male veteran honours for the day. Lucy Parmenter led their ladies home in 7th place overall in 34:15, taking the first female senior prize. Louise Rawlinson, also of the Epping club, took first female veteran prize in time of 37:52.
Thanks to all racers and supporters, and to Herts Boat rescue for keeping an eye on us all in the water.
Final race of the series takes place Tuesday 12th September. Race start is scheduled for 6:30pm due to shortening daylight hours (we will look at moving this to 6:45pm to make it easier to travel after work, but that needs to be confirmed – keep an eye on our Facebook page and the Redricks Lake swim group for updates)
