Tonight was the second race in the 2013 Midweek Aquathlon series. Another very good turn out and if the 3 non-starters could have made it it would have been another record entry.
Tri Sport Epping presence was clearly evident with most of them racing in their club colours but more importantly in the men’s results. First home for the men senior’s was George Cook, showing great form as a junior. We like to think of him as one of our own because his mother Ann still holds a number of records at Bishops Stortford Running Club where she ran for many years. The men’s veteran category was won by Andy Bourne also from TSE. Andy had a fantastic swim time of 9:37 and his run time wasn’t half bad either! Well done to Tri Sport Epping and thanks for your ever present support.
The ladies race showed up some new faces with the senior category going to Natalie Barnard of Transition Tri. Natalie’s very impressive time of 32:57 placed her 4th overall!! One second quicker on the swim and she would have been 2nd fastest in the water. Excellent racing! In the category for the more mature woman there was a close race with Debbie Tompson carrying the colours for Stortford Tri and holding off second placed Bryony Maddams by 12 seconds.
Thank you to all who turned out to race and support. Thanks also to my helpers who make it possible to put on this event.
I look forward to seeing you all again on the 16th July.
These are the interim results (Aquathon-Race 2 2013 results) – if no-one spots any errors or omissions they will become the final results.
